CDSpin will remove the spin-up time of various applications which utilize a CD. It works by keeping the CD spin-up and ready for instant access. By keeping the CD spinning, an application doesnt have to wait on the CD to spin-up, in order to access CD information.
Spin-up times of CDs vary from approximately 5-20 seconds. CDSpin eliminates this wait. You can add and remove CDs at will, without CDSpin failing. CDSpin doesnt care if you are using an audio or data CDs.
CDSpin is NOT a CD-ROM caching utility. It doesnt cache anything or modify the operating systems cache settings.
CDSpin isnt recommended to use on laptops if you are concerned about battery life, but you could use it on a laptop computer to help drain the battery (for battery conditioning).
