Sound recorder is the simplest way to record sound on your machine. Anything that plays through your speakers or headphones can be recorded as well as all microphone and line in inputs used for external devices.
The files are saved in WAV format, sincde it is one of the most available, but it can easily be converted to other audio formats such as MP3 or WMA.
