MusicEase Traditional Songbook 1.00b offers over 300 traditional kids transposable sheet music and adult song classics. Transpose, print, and play. Optionally display chord names/fret diagrams, tablature,display as standard round notes or as shape notes, scale to different sizes and automatically reformat, re-arrange/delete verses, play with band accompaniment.
Specify any Windows font/size for verses and chord names. Optionally display music only or verses only. Or display some verses under the notes with other verses appearing after the song. You can also save the verses as a text file and the melody as a MIDI file for use in other programs. Both 4-shape and 7-shape shaped note systems are supported. Tablature can be for guitar, banjo, mandolin or customized for any stringed instrument.
Songs can be loaded using titles or first lines. Songs include traditional children's songs like "Mary had a Little Lamb", "Go Tell Aunt Rhody" and "Eency Weency Spider", spirituals like "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", "Go Tell It On the Mountain" and "All My Trials", standards like "After the Ball Is Over", "Funiculi, Funicula" and "Annie Laurie", patriotic songs like "America, the Beautiful" and "Star-Spangled Banner", folk songs like "Freight Train" and "Have Nagila", Christmas songs like "Away In a Manger" and "Jingle Bells", cowboy standards like "Home On the Range" and "Streets of Laredo", rounds like "Are You Sleeping" and "White Coral Bells", lullabies like "Rock-A-Bye Baby" and "All the Pretty Little Horses", game songs like "Ring Around the Rosie" and "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush", and favorite hymns like "Amazing Grace" and "Be Thou My Vision". From 1 to 16 verses are included, depending on the song. All songs are in the public domain.
Runs under Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP and Vista. A sound card is optional.

- Chord names or guitar chord frames or none;
- 1, 2, 3, all or no verses under the notes or after a song in 1 or 2 column format;
- Verses only (no music) with or without chord names/fret diagrams;
- Export verses only to an ascii (text) file;
- Portrait or landscape page orientation;
- To display the music using shape notes (4 or 7 shapes) or standard round noteheads;
- To display the music using tablature for guitar, banjo, or any other stringed instrument;
- And when playing,
- Specify a different general MIDI instrument for the melody;
- Play just melody or melody with a band accompaniment;
- Save your song as a MIDI file which then can be played later or imported into a sequencing program for further manipulation;
- Change tempos;
- You can use any scalable Windows' fonts/sizes for lyrics, chord names, and titles. The music can be scaled larger (e.g., for easier reading) or smaller and then quickly reformatted and justified. Any Windows' printer can be used to obtain engraver quality printed output comparable to that you find in standard songbooks. Page and margin sizes are adjustable.
- Individual songs can be imported into our 5-star rated MusicEase Professional intelligent music score editor and fully edited. The MusicEase Traditional Songbook for Children and Adults is however fully self-contained. MusicEase Professional is not required to run it.
