PlayOn 2.59 offers a DLNA/UPnP media server and browser which help to navigates content from online from providers, and presents them to DLNA networked media devices. In plain English, this means you can use your game console or networked television to access content from providers like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, CBS, ESPN, and CNN.

1. PlayOn enables consumers who own a PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, or HP MediaSmart TV to watch Internet Video on their TV.
2. With PlayOn, you can access your favorite Internet videos (YouTube, Hulu, CBS, Netflix, CNN, ESPN, and many more) on your TV. Most folks don't want to gather the family around the PC in the office to settle in to catch up on missed episodes of your favorite sitcom or check out the latest YouTube videos from your favorite producer. Of course, there are times you want to watch video on your PC, and there are times when you'd much rather take advantage of the investment you made in your Home Entertainment System and watch on the big screen. In fact, according to a Neilson survey 94% of adults who subscribe to a cable or satellite service prefer to watch programming on their traditional sets rather than online.
3. The PC software pulls in the media streams, in the same way as your web browser, and then sends them directly over your home network to your device, even converting their formats on the fly to make sure the devices can play them. Simple as that.
4. PlayOn leverages the existing browser and UPnP functions of game consoles and networked televisions, and uses the PC in the middle to bring in the content from the Web, passing it over your home network to the device.

Requirements:

• Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later), Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003/Windows Home Server (Service Pack 1 or later). 64-bit versions of Windows are also supported
• Windows Internet Explorer 6 or later (7 is highly recommended, 8 not yet tested)

• "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration" is recommended to be disabled on Windows Server 2003 and WHS; click here for assistance
• Installation includes the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (Service Pack 1) if needed
• Minimum 1.5 GHz x86 processor (preferably multi-core)1

• 100 MB of available disk space for installation, plus recommended 4-5 GB extra space on the same drive where Windows is installed
• Internet broadband connection of at least 1.5 Mbps, and home network with wired, powerline, or 802.11n connections (for wireless home networks with 802.11g, either the PC or device should be on a wired connection)2
