Song Builder 1.2.4

Song Builder 1.2.4 is launched to be a convenient as well as professional program whch lets you build songs with up to 15 instrumental voices and a percussion track.  Instruments can be chosen from the default soundbank of 128 instruments and more effects can be achieved by loading additional soundbanks of your choice.  Music can be exported to MIDI and MusicXML files for input to music processing and music publishing systems.

Song Builder is great for composers as the JFugue MusicString notation means that musical ideas can be developed, tested and edited very quickly and easily.  Notes within a MusicString can be specified by their name and octave or by their MIDI value.  A note duration can be specified either by a character code, or numerically. MusicStrings can be assembled into Patterns.  A song would typically consist of a Pattern for each voice, where each Pattern would contain other Patterns and MusicStrings.

All MusicStrings and Patterns within a song are given unique names which makes it easy to keep track of them within a composition.  A MusicString can be shared between any of the Patterns in a song and it only needs to be edited once for the changes to be effective wherever that MusicString occurs within the song.
