Major Features:

1. actiTIME Basic Features

• Time expenses are recorded on by-customer and by-project basis. actiTIME collects time expenses for tasks associated with particular project and customer. The number of customers, projects, and tasks is not limited. Terms customer, project, and/or task do not fit your process? You can easily re-name them and thus create your own hierarchy for tracking time expences. 
• Overtime and undertime calculations and reports. Generally overtime / undertime value is calculated for each user as the difference between time expenses reported for a particular day and a workday duration specified for the user.  Negative value has a meaning of undertime (user reported less time expenses than he was supposed to make) and positive value has a meaning of overtime (user has spent more time and delivered more work for this day).  actiTIME provides a clear and simple way for its users to calculate and collect overtime / undertime values for further reporting and analysis. 
• Co-workers can share information using daily task comments. While entering time expenses user can attach a comment to any task on any working day. This comment may play a role of description for the reported time or may be a status or notification message from the user to his/her co-workers. The "Time-Track Comments" report implemented in actiTIME Extended shows all time and comments entered by the users in the form convenient for further analysis.
• Support of billable and non-billable task statuses. actiTIME supports both billable and non-billable statuses for customers, projects, and tasks. Non-billable tasks may be easily filtered in billing reports and are not included into invoice data export. Each billable task has a billing type assigned. These billing types can be customized by the user in accordance with the active accounting system. 
• Explicit reports for billing and management purposes. actiTIME provides detailed and summarized reports of: Time expenses by billable and non-billable tasks; Time that has been spent by employees; Time expenses by billing types; Summary and daily overtime reported by users. Records included into a report can be grouped by projects, customers, dates, users and billing types. Billing reports are generated either by a custom date range or by a set of completed tasks. 
• Individual access rights management. Access rights are managed individually for each user of the system. A set of granted rights defines the user's permission to access actiTIME interfaces and data.
• Entering/Modifying the time-track of other users. actiTIME allows the users with the corresponding access rights to see, enter and modify time-track information on behalf of other users. It is performed through the same interface which is used for personal time-tracking. 
• Integration with Intuit QuickBooks®. Data collected by actiTIME can be exported to qbXML file and then imported to QuickBooks® to generate invoices. Integration with Intuit QuickBooks® is tested and verified for QuickBooks® Edition 2004. According to Intuit® notes about backward compatibility, it should work with any QuickBooks® edition starting from 2002.
• Data export in the CSV format. All reports generated by actiTIME may be exported in CSV format for further analysis and/or for importing to other software.
• Access to the system through a web browser. actiTIME works with the most popular web browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+ and Mozilla Firefox 1.5+.  As a web-based solution actiTIME can be reached from any computer connected to the Internet or to your LAN.
• Support of different database platforms. actiTIME operates with database through ODBC/JDBC interfaces, so there is no constraint for the use of a particular database platform. The current version of actiTIME supports MySQL and MS Access. You can also order support of MS SQL through actiTIME customization service.
• Runs under many operational systems. Having been developed in Java, actiTIME server runs virtually under every computing platform and operational system (any Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc.).
• Free of charge. Everyone is welcome to use actiTIME Basic without being charged. There are no hidden costs - actiTIME Basic is absolutely free. If you wish to enhance your time-tracking solution with additional time collection and reporting functionality, you can easily upgrade to actiTIME Extended at any time.

2. Time-Track Comments Report.

• Time-Track Comments Report contains users' comments. It helps you to: provide your customers with more information on the completed work; get a more detailed view of your current workflow; analyze your staff's time-track. You can generate a report with each user's comments displayed separately (next to the time this user spent on a task) or you can make a report where all users' comments will be joined by tasks:
• Time-Track Comments Report provides extended data grouping options. You can choose several Customers and Projects to report on, whereas all the rest of actiTIME reports can be generated either on all Customers/Projects or just on one Customer/Project.

3. Restricted Access to Other Users' Time-Track. This feature allows you to restrict users from seeing other users' time-track and comments. The "restricted" information is hidden in the following interfaces:

• "View Open Task" pop-up (accessed from the "Enter Time-Track" interface)
• "View Open Task" interface (accessed from the "Open Tasks" interface)
• "View Completed Task" interface (accessed from the "Completed Tasks" interface)

4. Configurable Start Day of the Week. You can set any day of the week to be the first working day displayed by the system. It will allow you to configure in actiTIME the financial/reporting week adopted in your organization

5. Lock Time-Track from Modifications.

• You can lock users' time-track from further changes if you have either "Generate Reports" or "Manage Customers, Projects and Tasks" access right.
• Such locking will help you avoid situations when users edit their time-track data after it has been: approved, used for billing, audited 
• This functionality is available on the "Lock Time-Track History" interface under the "My Time-Track" tab.
• You can define a "locking date", and the system will lock the time-track period preceding this date for all users and for all Customers, Projects and Tasks.
• The first locking will close the entire time-track entered by all users from the very first day of tracking up to the defined locking date. When locking a period you can provide comments to every locking record up to 2000 characters long. All locking records are listed in the "Lock Time Periods" section in reverse chronological order. You can re-open (unlock) the last locked time period if such a need arises.

6. Sick Leave and Time Off Tracking. With this feature actiTIME users can enter time off and sick leave along with hours worked. The entered information is available for your review in the Staff Output and Overtime reports, if you have the "Generate Reports" right.

7. Usability Improvements

• Select several customers and projects to report on. It is implemented new customer and project selector in the following reports: Staff Output Report; Billing Summary; Report Time-Track Comments Report. Using the new selector you can generate these reports for selected subset of customers and projects registered in actiTIME.
• Filter tasks by customers, projects, and task names. Now you can view tasks of several selected customers or projects in interfaces "Open Tasks" and "Completed Tasks". This is handy when you want to view tasks of more than one project, but not of all projects. When project contains too many tasks, or you are looking for a task but do not remember its project, you can filter task by their names. Just enter a keyword and actiTIME will show you the tasks which names contain this keyword.
• Auto-login. Do not want to enter username and password each time you open an actiTIME interface? Select the 'Keep me logged in' check box on the Login page and next time actiTIME will automatically log you in.
• Customizable workday duration. Set your workday duration in "hours:minutes" format according to your needs.
• Support of hire and release dates. Now you can specify hire and release date for each of actiTIME users. When actiTIME calculates undertime for a user, it takes into account hire and release dates configured for this user.
