DocMoto 2.0 is an ideal solution for managing your system.  This is an internet ready, multi-user document and file management system.

DocMoto is a digital asset management system specifically designed to meet the demands of studios running Mac networks.

Fully integrated into Windows native file manager, Windows Explorer, DocMoto is as simple to work with as a network drive. Users can drag and drop files in and out of a DocMoto repository using familiar windows interfaces. Anybody who has ever copied a file from a digital camera to a desktop PC has enough skill to use DocMoto.

A standards based WebDAV server, DocMoto repositories can be accessed internally or via the internet, making them ideal for both internal and externally based staff, customers or clients.

Powerful full text or content searching is supplied, with users being able to search on a files contents as well as just the file name. As standard all Microsoft Office file formats can be searched, other file types are also supported.

Files can also be searched by user definable meta data such as author, subject, project or case.

DocMoto supports a comprehensive revision control system, with complete file check in and check out controls. A complete file audit trail is provided with a full revision history being viewable.

Users can readily keep track of files they are working with through the My Files feature. System administrators are also provided with full details on the files currently undergoing revision.

Full access control is supported through a sophisticated group based security model.

A powerful change notification feature allows users to subscribe to files and folders they are interested in.

Support for third party scanning software and reporting tools is also provided through DocMotos free of charge File Transfer Utility.

Complete with an import facility for large file volumes, DocMoto supports a choice of data storage technologies including Microsoft SQL Server.

Major Features:

1. Automated Revision Control: Any electronic media ‘checked-in’ to the DocMoto server will be automatically revision controlled.
2. All Digital Asset Types Supported: DocMoto can store and display any digital file type. Documents, spreadsheets, email, images, drawings or music, are all supported.
3. Notification System: DocMoto allows users to put a ‘watch’ on folders and files. Users are then automatically notified via email of events such as new files being added or existing files being updated.
4. Meta Data File Classification: User definable Meta data can be associated with files making searching and classification simple and more powerful.
5. Enforceable File Tagging: DocMoto can be configured to force users to enter data at file check-in. That data can be as varied as you want. It might be a project code, or the amount of time spent on a revision or the status of a document.
6. Customizable Data Views: On a folder by folder basis DocMoto can be configured to display different data for digital resources. A folder containing email might just have columns displaying a "subject", and "from" field, but a folder containing photographic images might have columns showing the resolution, or depth of field. The possibilities are endless.
7. Scriptable Folders: Scripts can be created to automate the creation of folders. This can be used for a wide variety of labour saving tasks. For example, a script could be created to define a folder for storing email. Whenever a new email folder is required this script can be run from the user interface. Scripts can also create sub folders, and move content into those folders. This can be used to create complex folder structures as required when a new project or job is initiated.
8. Workflow: DocMoto allows administrators to define status settings for digital assets. When combined with external routines to respond to these changes a highly customizable workflow can be created.
9. Windows and Linux Desktop Support: Users with a Windows or Linux desktop can work with DocMoto through our browser based thin client.
10. Full Drag and Drop Interface: Being a native Mac product users can drag and drop any electronic media through a familiar Mac user interface.

We use a number of technologies to maximize transfer speeds. DocMoto also utilizes intelligent storage technology to efficiently store multiple file revisions. This key technology can have an enormous impact on storage requirements. Particularly in studios where the average file size could easily be in excess of 500 Mb.
13. Integrate with Existing Systems: DocMoto is provided with a full API to enable it to be integrated into other existing systems within the business. This makes it possible for DocMoto to become a key part in delivering a full end to end solution. You might for example create software to have DocMoto feed time sheet information into a billing system. Or create software to have DocMoto automatically supply final proof documents to a content management system for publishing on an intranet.
14. Internet/Intranet Compatible: DocMoto uses web technologies such as WebDAV allowing it to be used across any TCP/IP network. This means it can be used quite easily across an internal intranet, or external extranet. Staff can work remotely, and customers and suppliers can access their content.
15. Secure Transmission: DocMoto can be configured to transmit all files using SSL (secure socket layer). This ensures all assets sent via the internet are secure.
