Look up US Zip Codes from Inside Outlook! If you use Microsoft Outlook but hate the fact that you have to look up zip codes manually, we have a solution for you! GetZips installs as an Outlook Addin and appears as an extra toolbar on each contact"s detail window. Simply open a contact (or create a new one), click the Get Zip Code or Validate Address button. GetZips then goes out to the internet on your behalf, performs a number of address lookups, then automatically updates your contact"s address with the correct Zip Code. It can even validate a zip code or address you already have!

GetZips in Action

In the first picture below, you can see that we have created a new contact named John Doe. We have his address, but are unsure of the zip code. Therefore, we let GetZips take care of it for us. Note the toolbar in the upper-right corner with the Get Zip Code button highlighted.

When we click the Get Zip Code button, GetZips does its magic. Almost instantly the correct zip code is automatically entered for us, as show in the screen shot below.

In addition to looking up the zip code automatically, GetZips will also validate the entire address simply by clicking the Validate Address button. There are two things worth noting about validating addresses. First of all, the period character will be removed from the street abbreviation. Had the original name been "street" it would have automatically been changed to ST. Validate Address automatically changes all street names (and even some cities and towns!) to the official USPS standard.
