Draft documents quickly and easily with Rider 8 Tools Rider 8 Tools are designed to be used by people who draft highly customized documents but that also rely on precedent and which require consistent use of terminology - for example, contracts, government filings, product manuals and corporate and other reports.
DefFind
DefFind searches a document for defined terms, lists those terms and allows the user to display each definition and the uses of such definition. DefFind can also display a list of all capitalized terms in a document that are not defined and that DefFind determines may need to be defined, allowing the user to determine whether such terms should be defined.
ProxFind
ProxFind allows a user to search one or more documents for:
- Specified text
- Specified text within a specified number of characters of other specified text
- A specified word within a specified number of words of another specified word
When ProxFind finds text meeting the specified search parameters, ProxFind displays selections from the relevant document, with the search text highlighted. ProxFind also displays a list of the displayed selections, together with the location of the selection within the document where the selection was found.
Rider 8 Tools
Both DefFind and ProxFind search Microsoft Word (.doc and .docx), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Text (.txt) and HTML (.htm) documents. Rider 8 Tools operate independently of other applications (including Microsoft Word*). A user does not need Microsoft Word installed on his or her computer in order to search Microsoft Word (.doc) documents.
- Select and copy any or all of the selections or any part of a selection
- Print all of the selections or any selection
- Save all of the selections as a Rich Text Format document (.rtf) or Adobe Portable Document Format document (.pdf)
If the user has the appropriate version of Microsoft Word installed on his or her computer, ProxFind will open the search document and automatically navigate to any chosen selection, allowing the user to make any desired changes to the underlying document
