Scanner drivers are usually limited to their scanning functions. Imaging or editing programs are usually too specific to make a global acquiring solution for today user needs. Scanout creates the bridge between these allowing you to acquire, modify, organize and save toTIFF, PDF or PS on one or several sessions. Now you can enhance the inner power of your scanner by centralizing and automating your acquiring work into an easy-to-use tool.
ScanOUT is a low cost scanner software that serves as an alternative to bundled scanner programs and applications with limited functionality.

ScanOUT provides a quick and convenient way of directly scanning paper documents into your computer, as TIFF, Postscript or PDF files. It currently doesnt support OCR (optical character recognition).

Features:

Flexible Interface - Has a simple yet powerful wizard-like interface that makes acquiring, organizing, editing and archiving easy for both beginners and power users.

Image editor - Includes a simple yet convenient editor that allows you to scale, rotate, crop and modify pages individually before saving your final document.

Import from popular file formats - Existing disk files saved as TIF, JPG, GIF, PCX, BMP, TGA can be merged together or combined with new scanned pages.

Ouput to PDF - Scanned images can be stored as highly compressed PDF files with built-in pdf property information (author, title, etc) without the need for any version of Adobe Acrobat.

Multipage support - Scan several pages at once and save them all together into a single multipage TIFF or PDF file.

Session saving - Save currently working session for later reuse and divide your work throughout different periods of time by retrieving saved sessions.

Scan without the default interface - Has its own acquiring interface allowing you to take advantage of personalized settings unavailable with your standard scanner window.
