XL Toolbox 2.14
XL Toolbox 2.14 Ranking & Summary
XL Toolbox 2.14 description
XL Toolbox 2.14 is a powerful and easy to use tool which is designed to meet all the needs of
There are several commercial software packages for scientific data analysis and presentation. While their statistical and scientific charting functions are unmatched, they are themselves no match for Excel's flexibility when it comes to organizing your data. Thus, researchers may end up having their data in several files: Most is stored in Excel®, and for specific analysis and presentation tasks, some of it is copied over to one of the professional scientific packages. I prefer to have my data in one place and developed the XL Toolbox to augment Excel's scientific capabilities.
There are two editions of the Toolbox, one for Excel® 2007 and another one for Excel® 2003 and earlier. The installer automatically determines which files to install, and can activate (turn on) the add-in in Excel® for you.
Installing the Toolbox
- When you run the installer file, the add-in and a few supporting files will be copied to the add-in folder of your user profile. Typically, on an English machine, this is: c:documents and settingsusernameapplication dataMicrosoftaddins.
- Starting with version 2.11, the installer can automatically activate the XL Toolbox in Excel for you.
- You need to install the add-in for each user on the computer. If you log into different computers on a network with the same username, you will have to install the add-in on each computer.
Installing for all users on the computer
- If you have a multi-user environment and want to install the Toolbox for all users at once, you need to manually copy the file(s) from your profile folder to the XLStart folder, e.g.:
- C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice12XLSTART
- Besides the actual addin file, you may want to copy the help file (xltbhelp.chm) along with it.
- When an addin is installed in the XLStart folder, it is not necessary to activate it from within Excel.
- Hint: A handy shortcut to your personal profile folder is: Start--Run--%appdata%--ENTER.
Uninstalling the Toolbox
- Uninstalling the toolbox is easy. Simply go to Control Panel, choose "Add or remove programs", locate "Daniel's XL Toolbox" in the list, and click on "Remove". The Uninstaller will unregister the Addin in Excel for you.
- The uninstall procedure will also permanently delete your personal XL Toolbox preferences.
