PS2 Star Wars Battlefront II best 9.7

PS2 Star Wars Battlefront II review:4 stars (Very good for a Star Wars game) - Ive got to state up front that I suffer from major Star Wars burnout -- the first movie (1977) was great, everything else has been merchandising -- so my praise for this game is not given lightly. Gameplay is smooth and dynamic, some Star Wars games weve had in the past have been really dreadfully behind the times, this feels like its state-of-the-art.The space combat is a welcome addition. My son clued me in on new characters previously not available to be played. It looks great on the screen. Overall? For a Star Wars game, very good. For any other game, ok. Its an improvement on previous Star Wars games, but for my money I just do not want to hear Obi Wan Kenobis voice encouraging me to trust the force or take a droidica apart or anything like that. Im just sick of Star Wars in general. Now, my son, whos eleven, thinks this is the best game hes played since Halo 2. So go forth and figure.5 stars (THIS IS AN AWSOME SEQUEL THE BEST STAR WARS GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - I got this game and the SW Episode 111 dvd on the same day which was the release date. Once I started playing this game I was very pleased. This is the only thing that really bothers me is the story mode because you have to complete certain objectives that got kind of annoying but besides that they still have Galactic Conquest which is awsome and so is Instant Action and you get to play as Jedi/Sith celeberties and HAn,Chewee,Jango,Baba and Lehia. This is a game I strongly recomened this game to die-hard Star Wars fans such as myself and fans of the original SW Battlefront and to some Battlefield,Halo,Unreal, fans. This game is so will worth the money!!!!1 stars (Absolutely incredible letdown) - After a week plus with this game, my initial reaction has been confirmed time and time again - This is a true hack job, an incredible disappointment and waste of money for most consumers. The graphic interface on this game is truly atrocious - overly busy, frequent pixelation, freezeups, useless maps, illegible fonts, the list goes on. Countless fellow fans have commented to me that the game seems untested, because no sane person would approve this mess! Just try reading the summary page after each battle - its impossible! Could we have audio during the loading page? Did someone just forget that? Clones are copies of Jango Fett, so why didnt Mr. Temuera Morrison provide voiceovers for them? He did for stormtroopers, but someone else (seemingly Troy McClure) was cast as the clones. Who was in charge of continuity?Battlefront 1 was a graphic masterpiece because the visuals never got in the way of the gameplay. Battlefront 2 does feature smarter AI, more classes, and some excellent new planets, but the interface makes any improvements moot. Lucasarts needs to go back to Battlefront 1 and the brilliant Bounty Hunter to refind how to present the Star Wars galaxy in videogames. Ive already loaned this game out to people who have returned it with the statement Thanks for saving me the $50, this is awful. Save yourself the money too. This game isnt worth it.
