The plugin uses the pattern swatches in the Illustrator swatches palette to combine two patterns (different or the same) to create stunning unique texture patterned effects.
The pattern swatches used can either be the native Illustrator swatches supplied with Illustrator or they can be your own swatches or ones supplied with the plugin.
Patterns in Illustrator can be basic or complex or made of text or other designs.
The pattern plugin manipulates the pattern swatch in many ways, controlled as well as randomized, modifying the shift / shear / scaling / rotation and internal color of the patterns, combining the patterns in multiple ways and color combinations.
The patterns are overlayed as multiple fills in the appearance palette, with varying blend modes and opacities. The patterns create a graphic style that can be used in other documents and designs.
Patterns can be expanded and used as normal paths, apply styles / 3D bevels / sketch effects and more.
The patterns can then be used in Illustrator as backgrounds or text effects and more, or can be exported to other applications such as Photoshop and After Effects or SWF format.
