By combining the high-quality information created by building information modeling (BIM) applications such as Revit-based software with geometry and data from other design tools, Autodesk NavisWorks products enable a real-time, whole-project view for effective 3D coordination, 4D planning, photorealistic visualization, dynamic simulation, and analysis.

The Autodesk NavisWorks software solutions comprise four products: Autodesk NavisWorks Manage, Autodesk NavisWorks Simulate, Autodesk NavisWorks Review, as well as the free* viewer application Autodesk NavisWorks Freedom.

Anticipate Problems
Autodesk NavisWorks Manage provides features to anticipate potential problems:

* Interference Detection enables clash tests against specified geometry to find and resolve conflicts.
* Point/Line Based Clashing provides checking of as-built laser scan data against 3D designs.
* SwitchBack opens the current clash in the original design software. (Compatible with AutoCAD 2004 software and later or Microstation J and version 8)
* Audit Trail tracks the status of clashes as they are found and resolved.
* Export reports with results of clash tests including comments and screenshots.
* XML import/export enables sharing of clash scenarios with other Autodesk NavisWorks users.

Schedule in 4D
Both Autodesk NavisWorks Manage and Autodesk NavisWorks Simulate enable you to schedule in 4D:

* 4D simulation links model geometry to times and dates for playback of construction or demolition sequences to verify building or demolition viability.
* Schedule Linking enables import of times, dates, and other task data from project management software.
* Set up planned and actual times to visualize deviations from the project schedule.
* Export 4D simulations into a prerecorded .AVI animation.
* Customize task color and transparency, as well as overlay text.
