The swatches libraries are standard format AI files. You can edit them as normal.
You can always tweak the gradients within this file and then re-save the library, though always remember to save to the correct version if you wish to use it in other applications
The swatches are gradient swatches and appear in the gradient swatches section in Illustrator.
