IGES Import for IntelliCAD 1.0

IGES Import for IntelliCAD 1.0 provides you with a powerful program that you can import geometric data from IGES files. IGES files contain graphical data in the form widely accepted by most CAD/CAM systems. IGES Import for IntelliCAD converts this geometric data into corresponding IntelliCAD entities and adds them to the contents of the currently opened IntelliCAD drawing.

Installation & Usage:

Since IGES Import for IntelliCAD is a plug-in for IntelliCAD powered applications, it must be loaded into the application's environment before it can be used. Please follow the simple instructions in the IGES Import for IntelliCAD Getting Started document which is copied into the installation folder. After you have loaded the plug-in file into the IntelliCAD powered application, simply click on the menu items in the "IGESImport" submenu to run these new commands. Truly, software made simple!

The 'IGESImport' menu consists of the following commands:

• IGES Import - Imports an IGES file
• IGES Impor tHelp - Displays the IGES Import for IntelliCAD help file
• IGES Import Register - Registers your copy of IGES Import for IntelliCAD
• IGES Import About - Displays the IGES Import for IntelliCAD About box
  

 The IGES File Format:

• The Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) file format standard was developed to address the incompatibility issue with various CAD/CAM systems. This standard allows efficient and accurate exchange of product definition data across almost all CAD/CAM systems.
•  An IGES file is composed of 80-character ASCII records, a record length derived from the punch card era. Text strings are represented in "Hollerith" format, the number of characters in the string, followed by the letter "H", followed by the text string, e.g., "4HSLOT"
