Painter uses patterns throughout. Patterns have been with Painter from the early days. In most cases, the patterns are accessed via the original luminance option (similar to the paper grain)
Use patterns in Painter ™ express texture command to create stunning black and white imagery.
Adjust color uses the patterns (original luminance). Creates unusual color shifts. Reapply using different scaling to create surreal color effects.
Third party plugins such as the Andrews plugins cannot use patterns directly but by using the selection based on original luminance, patterns can influence the output
The motion blur and soften and super soften commands cannot use the pattern information. Simply use the selection commands and then apply super soften or motion blur.
Copy the pattern into the pasteboard and apply blobs. Or use the blobs pattern option / original luminance
Or create a pattern based brush stroke, and use in auto clone.
Custom tile plugin uses the patterns to create weird and wonderful textures.
