- Performance: Pixarras attention to performance is a top priority. As an artist draws and paints the tools should disappear from thought and allow focus on the creative process rather than waiting for the tool to finish its job. In addition the responsiveness of the brush tools should be quick and show marks on the page instantly to allow the artist to enter the "zone".
- High Precision 64 Bit Brush Engine: Most graphic programs offer at most 32 bits of color resolution. TwistedBrush represents all image data internally at a full 64 bits of color resolution. This allows for super smooth color mixing and alpha blending.
- Brushes: TwistedBrush has hundreds of different brushes available. These range from very simple color dots to realistic representations of natural artist tools to very wild brushes

Enhancements:
- Improved - When selecting a TBR file with the menu File > Load from File Into present a confirmation dialog indicating that the current page will be erased.
- Improved - When the screen resolution or color depth changes redraw the TwistedBrush application immediately.
- Improved - When a page is saved for any reason reset the auto save timer. Previously it was reset only during an auto save.
- Improved - When importing a TBR file dont immediately save the page afterwards.
- Improved - Minor performance improvement when saving a restore point.
- Improved - When exporting a page dont save the page prior to doing so. It adds no value.
- Changed - The Auto Save message is now a general purpose Saving message. The preferences option is still used to control if it should be shown or not.
- Fixed - In cases where a page couldnt be loaded because of lack of memory not all of the used memory by the partially loaded page was freed.
- Fixed - When exporting to a TBR file it was possible that changes to the page may not be saved to the page between the time span of the last save and the export.
