Major Features:

1. Locate relevant material: nDex is designed to enhance the way a student records and accesses study material. If we use an example of a student studying to write a essay; that student may start by searching the Web for suitable pages and articles. When one is found, the student wishes to extract the key information and store it in a way that it can be relocated easily when the time comes to write the essay. To do this, read on.
2. Create a entry: By creating an entry in nDex, materials can be referenced more easily: the more accurate the entry, the more easily the information may be accessed. Each entry of study material has its own area in which to record key information:
   
   •   Title
   •   Author
   •   Publication details such as Publication type and year
   •   Grade the article according to a user defined grading system
3. Extract key information from the text: This is the difficult bit, no-one is going to do it for you. Read the article and extract the key information. Input it into nDex.
   
   • Unique referencing system links articles in your project through author, co-author or academic reference
   •   Selected quotations. Useful for searching on when writing your essay. This is ideal for when you are looking for a quote on a particular subject
   •   Summary of the article. Saves you having to re-read the article
   •   Keywords found in article. Useful for searching on when writing your essay
   •   Models used in article. Useful for searching on when writing your essay
   •   Publication details. All referenced materials can be exported to your essay
4. Start writing your essay
   
   • As you write your essay, you can access the related text in nDex in a variety of ways
   • Search by title, author, model, rating, quotation and keyword
   • The search results offer hypertext links to the relevant article information
   • Search fields in your project by entering keywords in the Reports screen. The resulting lists are hyperlinks to the articles
   • Use Reports to filter articles by year of publication
