English<->German Talking Dictionary for Pocket PC

The ability to pronounce words is the distinguishing feature of this software translator. You do not have to check the transcription, merely select the word and with one click make the speech synthesizer pronounce it for you. The synthesizer (Text-to-Speech engine) is based on a new approach to speech synthesis, i.e. on formanta synthesis, which creates a human vocal tract simulation by modelling sounds of a national language.

The Talking Partner® dictionary for Pocket PC has the following features:
General features:

• Overview of all the dictionary entries in the Main List.
• All translations of the selected word displayed in the Translations List.
• Quick search function: just start typing a word in the Input Line and words beginning with these letters will appear on the screen.
• Quick reverse translation for proof of correct understanding.
• Virtual keyboard for the input of specific symbols (e.g. diacritics), if needed.
• The list for word memorizing: the application stores selected words in the Filtered List thus helping the user to learn them.
• Search function works for any symbol sequence as entered.

• Pronunciation of all the listed English words. The function is developed on the basis of the TTS (Text-to-Speech) technology.
• Word Grabber function. It allows picking the text fragment and copying it to the dictionary. The import of words is made by means of the Grabbing Tool which appears when the dictionary is minimized.
