i2k Align Retina 1.2.2

i2k Align Retina 1.2.2 brings you a mathematic program that is an advanced version of i2k Align that includes special-purpose algorithms to align and montage a variety of retinal images, including color, red-free, fluorescein angiography, and indocyanine green angiography. Users can mix and match images from different modalities as long as they are of the same eye of the same patient. This includes images taken months or years apart.

The downloaded software package includes a user-interface (UI) as well as a command-line executable, giving users two immediate means of running i2k Align Retina. The UI provides simple ways to load and select images, to choose among just a few options and set some preferences before aligning or montaging the images.

When processing is complete, users can preview the aligned images and the montages at low, intermediate or full resolution. Viewing of the aligned images can be controlled in a number of ways. The aligned images and montages are always saved to files. Users have the additional option of saving the inter-image correspondences and the inter-image mapping functions. Finally, the software package also includes a C header file and a library, so that users can compile and link i2k Align Retina with their own software.

While the emphasis of i2k Align Retina is on retinal images, this package also includes capabilities for aligning and montaging non-retinal, even photographic, images. The i2k Align Retina software is based on DualAlign's i2Align image registration technology software automatically aligns and montages two or more two-dimensional images. Small inter-image overlap and extensive inter-image changes are tolerated and the software automatically "recognizes" when the images are not of the same object or scene. The i2k Align Retina technology includes image pair registration, multi-image registration, distortion correction, seam selection, blending, illumination and color correction, and automatic cropping.
