With teachers all over the world writing their own lesson plans, activities and worksheets, it seems a shame that there was not some easy way for everyone to pool resources so that we would never be stuck for ideas again. Well now you can. Lesson Planner for Windows 95 has been in development for over 2 years and is constantly being upgraded with new features. Several full-time teachers from primary, secondary and further education have contributed ideas towards this program. It really is a program written by teachers for teachers. How many times have I talked to other teachers about this program only to be told, I dont need to plan lessons. Well now by sharing resources, even those who should, but dont plan, can! Lesson Planner For Windows 95TM is a program that can help organise and plan both lessons and schemes of work for all of your classes. The idea behind it was that all lessons are made up of shorter activities lumped together into a structure called a lesson. If we could keep a database of activities with which to make our lesson plans then the job of creating varied and interesting lessons is made simpler. By exporting our own lesson activities and swapping e.g. via the internet with other teachers of the same subject, we can quickly build up our own huge reource activities which we can then choose from to build our own lesson plans. All lesson plans can be saved for future use. But what if you find after one lesson that one particular activity in a lesson does not quite fit in when you try it, or does not work well with a particular year group. Easy. You just remove it from your lesson plan and insert another activity of similar length. Alternatively of course you can edit that particular activity to better fit your needs and keep the lesson plan essentially the same.Lesson Planner will also help put together a Scheme of Work for each of your class groups. Existing computer resources, e.g. Worksheets etc can easily and quickly be linked to a Lesson plan or activity. A worksheet organiser helps to find just the right worksheet for a particular need.
