Stretchmarks, in the puberty, are seen on legs and hips, and during pregnancy on abdomen, buttocks and bosoms. Stretchmarks may appear from the third month of pregnancy. The skin is more vulnerable from the sixth to the ninth month (third trimester) of pregnancy.

But they may also appear after pregnancy. Therefore, it is indispensable to have a prevention treatment from the third month until a next pregnancy.

A first pregnancy without them does not mean that there is no risk in the following one. So, it is important to use a preventive treatment with each pregnancy.

The expansion of the skin is an aggravating element, but it is not the cause of the appearance of stretchmarks.

However, some diseases cause them, like the Cushing syndrome, where there is no skin expansion. Stretchmarks are injuries that appear during hormonal periods, such as puberty and pregnancy.
