6. The 3 manuals of instrumental technique:
   
   • The three sections of instrumental technique each have a particular characteristic. The first section, about the use of the pick, enhances soloing technique with particular reference to how to create melodies and improvise, which require the use of a great number of scales. The Fingerstyle section, having to play in polyphony with the right hand, produces diversified movements that allow the contemporary playing of more voices. The arpeggio is one of the techniques that help to play polyphony. The section dedicated to comping, or playing a rhythmic accompaniment, basically deals with chord positions.
