The ExeDesk is a skinable (theme enabled) virtual desktop manager that will replace standard Windows desktop.
There is up to nine desktops, each with its own user-defined content. Windows opened on each desktop can be simply moved to other desktop using drag & drop (or can be made sticky and thus visible on all desktops).
ExeDesk Standard Edition features multiple object types (icons, buttons, frames, text,...), menus, tool windows and more.
ExeDesk Standard Edition is fully customizable: User can select different color and wallpaper for each desktop, assign hotkeys to desktops, select from many types of objects to represent particular application (or file or WWW) shortcut.
ExeDesk Standard Edition supports drag & drop and is easy to use.
Main features:
- Multiple virtual desktops (with multiple monitors supported) to put icons, graphics, and other content on. The desktops can be simply switched by mouse click or a hotkey.
- Switch among desktop using deskbar, classic virtual desktop window or from taskbar tray area.
- Transitions effects when switching between virtual desktops.
- Custom content on each desktop - each desktop can have its own user defined content - icons, buttons, bitmaps, etc. If required, it is possible to make objects global so that they are available on all desktops.
- Arrange windows on multiple desktops - It is possible to move windows from one desktop to other using drag & drop as well as make a window "sticky" - available on all desktops.
- Many types of objects - there are many object types a user can use to make desktop great looking and well-arranged - icon, button, text link, text, bitmap, toolbar, rectangle, web browser, predefined shape and file manager.
- Import / Export feature to simply modify themes and desktop configuration files and share objects with others.
- Themes - desktop look & feel (colors, desk bar, buttons, icons, menus, etc.) is defined by a theme user has currently loaded.
- Custom menus - it is possible to create user defined menus with submenus and separators.
- Tool windows - user defined windows with up to nine pages to put files, shortcuts, pictures, etc. to.....
- File manager/browser object to quickly access often used folders content.
- Quick access makes desktop space useful - double-click on an empty desktop area brings desktop on top of all other windows. Other double-click (or if an icon is clicked) sends it back to bottom.
- Drag & Drop - adding a file or application shortcut to the desktop (menu, tool window) is as simple as drag & drop. It is also possible to drag a file from Windows Explorer and drop it on an application shortcut in order to open the file with the application
