FlexDesk provides a multiple desktop environment for Windows NT/2000 with a difference. FlexDesk not only provides multiple desktops but also provides a separate login prompt for each desktop. This allows a user to have different desktops running different security contexts and thus providing different levels of privilege on the local machine and domain.FlexDesk has proved its worth in development, support and test environments.In development FlexDesk provides the mechanism to persuade developers to develop as a non admin user. We are all familiar with the problems introduced because of the inconvenience of having to log out and in again to make a security change. Developers tend to develop using far more privilege than appropriate. FlexDesk allows the developer to use a suitable account for development whilst having other desktops logged in as administrative and test accounts.In support FlexDesk allows your engineers to affect changes to workstations without the need to unnecessarily disrupt staff. FlexDesk allows your engineer to login as an administrative account on a new desktop, make configuration changes and logout without the need for users to logout and thus close all applications.In test environments FlexDesk allows multiple test accounts to be accessed from a single test system.
