GConvert extracts icons from files and displays them in a list: select the icon you want and it is converted into the format you want. GConvert reads any icon files such as executable, DLL, ICL, OCX, VBX, CPL, BPL, NIL, IL files and then allows you to save extracted icons as icon, bitmap, metafile, GIF, JPEG, PNG formats, or even copy them to the Windows clipboard for direct use into your applications, documents, Web pages. But GConvert offers you more flexibility and functionality than other standard icons extractors: by example it reads all icons including their images, it scans your folders for hidden icons and lets you export them as libraries, it works with external plug-ins for adding more destination formats (for instance the JPEG and GIF formats are provided thanks to plug-ins).
