SoundPackager 1.2 is a useful program built to make it a snap to download and apply Windows sound schemes.

If you've gotten a little tired of the default Windows sound scheme, download SoundPackager. It also includes several new high quality sound schemes as well as links to download hundreds of packages of sound schemes.

4. Bringing sound back to Windows
   • SoundPackager is a fairly straight forward program. It simply packages up Windows sound schemes to make it easier for people to share them with each other as well as create them.
   • Ever since Windows 95, Windows has focused less and less on letting people change the sounds of Windows. Today, it is fairly tedious to change your Windows sounds. You have to go through every event and assign a sound manually. And other than passing around ZIP files full of .WAV files, there's no easy way to save and share sound schemes. That's where SoundPackager comes in.
5. Your Sound Packages
   • SoundPackager keeps your sound packages in compressed archives that you can apply by selecting and choosing "apply package". Clicking on the edit button brings up a dialog listing the various events of the operating system as well as any programs that comply with the Microsoft sound scheme specification (so you can change the sounds in third-party programs that follow the rules too).
   • Similarly, you can easily create your own sound packages to store your custom sound scheme, assign an icon, and share it with others or save for future use.
6. New Sounds for Windows: SoundPackager includes several premium quality sound schemes created by Stardock Design. Additional sound schemes were packaged and submitted to WinCustomize.com.
