Chat Anywhere is a chat server for real-time chatting both in the local network and in the internet. Once the software is installed, a web-based chatroom will be set up in your PC, and you are just the chatrooms host. Anyone who wanna contact you can visit the chatroom via internet browser (E/Netscape/Opera/etc.) based on any operating system (Windows/Linux/etc) directly. But the visitors do not need to install the software unless they wanna be the host of their own chatrooms. For visiting your web-based chatroom, an internet browser is just enough. Any additional web server, such as IIS, Apache, etc., is not necessary. Nor of any special client software which is required in other chat messagers.
