Cross-Database Studio 5.0

Cross-Database Studio 5.0 is a full scale, integrated solution for comparison, migration and synchronization of structures and data in databases of different types. Cross-Database Studio 5.0 is equally efficient when applied to databases of the same type as well as heterogeneous databases.
Cross-Database Studio has an easy to use, intuitive interface does not require any special skills, making the task clear to understand and easy to perform. Cross-Database Studio 5.0 runs under Microsoft Windows (XP/2000/NT/98) operating system.
CDBS database access layer is based on ODBC interface, making the type of DBMS transparent for our users. In order for Cross-Database Studio 5.0 to communicate with chosen DBMS, ODBC driver needs to be installed. All modern databases have ODBC interface, so all you need to do is to choose ODBC driver. Usually ODBC driver is provided within a DBMS installation package.

Database Comparison - allows schemas and data comparison of two databases. A user can configure his/her own comparison strategy, followed by the output of detailed reports in XML, HTML formats, as well as direct output on the screen. The comparison can be done for the majority of database objects, including:

Database Synchronization - is designed for synchronization of schemas and data. After comparing two databases, a user can synchronize them. The objects for synchronizations are:

Synchronization process can be done without a preliminary comparison session, allowing to perform the following operations:
- Insert missing records
- Modify the different records
- Drop the records missing in target table
Synchronization process can be performed immediately or either postponed by creating SQL scripts and running them later, on demand. Synchronization can be performed in a “batch” mode. A user can configure synchronization session by setting a number of parameters, such as tables, synchronization direction, error reports, time scheduling etc.
Database Migration - is designed to migrate schemas and data between two heterogeneous or homogeny databases. Migration process can be considered as export/import of database objects, including:

Cross-Database Studio 5.0 can migrate all data types, including UNICODE and BINARY data types.
Main features:
- Script Creation - is intended for creation of SQL scripts for all tables, including structures and data.
- Data Backup / Restore - is intended for data backup from selected tables into specified file and data restoration from that file, if necessary.
- Custom Schemes - is intended for creation of customer defined schemas, including selected tables / views only, for their further comparison, synchronization and other processing.
- Report system - is intended for production of detailed comparison/synchronization reports. The reports can be generated in TXT, HTML, XML formats and used with different applications.
- SQL Commands Executing - is intended for running SQL statements of any type, without using another database client.
- Virtual Table - a state-of-the-art Cross-Database Studio 5.0 technology, intended for creation of temporary virtual tables, including columns from different tables, as defined by a user. It also enables a user to build intellectual comparison strategy by assigning the columns different criteria. This feature can be also applied in data migration and synchronization.
- Workspace - enables a user to store his/her environment configuration in a workspace file. Environment configuration can include the following customized DSN connections: tables, columns, operations, directions, virtual tables and any other setting parameters.
- Setting Parameters - a wide variety of setting parameters that can be used to control the process of comparison, synchronization and migration. The settings can be saved and used for future sessions.
