With Cross-Drive you can switch-off your ftp and do more.
Manage your webspace with ease. Access your files where ftp is not available, i.e.behind firewalls.
Cross-Drive is a web-based file management system. Installed on your webserver Cross-Drive allows to manage a large amount of files stored in directories on a server computer. For better file management zip-archives can be created and extracted. Additionally, urls can directly be downloaded to Cross-Drive without the detour along the private PC. Even bookmarks can be created.
Cross-Drive requires a standard webserver (i.e. Apache) and Perl to be installed. If installed, your files are accessible via http or https without any plugins.

Functions of Cross-Drive are:
- Create files, and directories.
- Edit, view, copy, move, rename, and delete operations.
- Search for and in files.
- Set directory and file attributes.
- Upload and download of files.
- Create password secured private area.
- Zip and Unzip, even add or remove individual files and directrories into and out of zip files.
- Download urls directly to the server, including cookie management.
- Create bookmarks.
- Many Options, like Netscape/Mozilla compatible cooky-file management.
- Secure https communication enabled.
Since Cross-Drive is written in Perl, it can be extended to your requirements.
Cross-Drive is easy to install. A simple setup script will question the necessary parameters and guide you through the installation process.
System Requirements: Standard webserver with cgi configured to execute Perl, Perl 5, Linux, and Zip/Unzip.
Most Unix derivates should work without changes. Some Linux installations miss Zip/Unzip programs being installed by default. Ask your provider or technical support. Installations on windows are not tested yet.
