EMS Data Import for DB2 3.2 description

EMS Data Import for DB2 3.2 is an application designed for importing data from MS Excel 97-2007, MS Access, DBF, XML, TXT, CSV, MS Word 2007, RTF, ODF and HTML files to DB2 tables.

EMS Data Import for DB2 provides the adjustable import parameters including source data formats for all the fields and destination DB2 data formats for the selected fields, commit options, number of records to skip, etc. This tool also includes a wizard enabling you to set all the DB2 import options for different files visually, and a command-line utility to execute import to DB2 database in one-touch.

Major Features:

  1. Import from 10 most popular formats: MS Excel 97-2007, MS Access, XML, DBF, TXT, CSV, MS Word 2007, OpenDocument Format and HTML
  2. Importing data to one or several tables or views from different databases
  3. A number of import modes - Insert All, Insert New, Insert or Update, and others
  4. Adjustable import parameters for each source file
  5. Saving all import parameters set on current wizard session
  6. Command-line utility to import data using the configuration file
  7. Powerful visual options module
  8. User-friendly wizard interface

Enhancements:

  • Added the possibility to create separate tables for each source data file. The table structure is built on the basis of the source data analysis.
  • It is now possible to specify the source data charset when importing TXT and CSV files.
  • The ability to set correspondences between source data and existing table fields is implemented. This correspondence is based on the identity of the source columns’ and destination table fields’ names.
  • Added the possibility to choose the file character set (None, OEM, ANSI) when importing data from DBF files.
  • SQL Server 2008 support is implemented.
  • PostgreSQL 8.3 support is implemented.
  • Destination table fields' types are now displayed. (DB2)
  • The "Automatically reconnect when connection is lost" option is added. (MySQL)
  • Added the possibility to set the Connection Timeout parameter before connecting to the host. (SQL Server)
  • Importing data in the Universal mode resulted in error. Fixed now. (DB2)
  • Using "-log" parameter in console versions used to result in error. Fixed now.
  • Other minor improvements and bug fixed

  • 300-megahertz (MHz) or higher Pentium II-compatible processor; 600-MHz or faster processor recommended
  • Microsoft Windows NT4 with SP4 or later, Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Windows Vista
  • 64 MB RAM (128 MB or above is recommended)
  • 20MB of available HD space for program installation
  • Super VGA (800x600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor; Super VGA (1024x768) or higher-resolution recommended
  • Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
  • DB2 Run-Time/Administrative Client 8.0 or higher
  • DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows
