JetMailMonitor 6.2.0.4929  is able to notify you immediately when new messages arrive on your POP3 mail server, but without your having to keep an e-mail program always running. It supports up to 10 e-mail accounts and features a configurable polling cycle.

Notification options include displaying the number of new messages via an icon in the system tray, playing a user-specified WAV file, showing a message box, or launching your e-mail program. JetMailMonitor supports Exchange, Netscape, Internet Mail, Outlook, and Outlook Express e-mail clients by default and allows you to register other e-mail programs as well. E-mail clients can be launched on arrival of new mail or by double-clicking the JetMailMonitor icon in the system tray.
