Born out of personal frustration about wireless connections dropping after periods of inactivity, KeepAlive is a freeware application that keeps your (wireless) connection alive. It does this by sitting in your task bar and regularly pinging a certain host. The host to ping and the pause between two pings are both configurable. This simple fact helps keeping your wireless connection open, even when youre not there
