Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1 Update: Extended E-mai description

This update is an extension of the original Outlook 2000 SR-1 Update: E-mail Security. If you installed this update before August 16, 2001, you should do so again to get the most recent security capabilities available.

The original update blocked access to certain file types that could contain dangerous code. The Outlook 2000 SR-1 Update: Extended E-mail Security update also blocks any attachment that has a CLSID (unique identifier) in the file name extension. This prevents you from launching a blocked application unintentionally while using Microsoft Outlook 2000.
