QuestAgent is an application based on Java, a search engine for offline and online publications. QuestAgent offers full-text indexing and searching for HTML, XML, PDF, MS Office, OpenOffice and Text documents. QuestAgent search applets can be distributed along with indexed documents and used from CD-ROM, DVD, Desktop or Intranet web site.
Search engine built in QuestAgent search applets allows user to run simple queries, use Boolean operators and parenthesis, search for phrases or use proximity. Search can spread across one or more fields of one or more indexed collections. In addition, QuestAgent allows highlighting of search terms in found HTML documents with easy navigation between search terms inside a document.
QuestAgent search applets are compatible with all major browsers and platforms. End-user doesnt need network connection or any server application. There is no need for any additional software except Java enabled web browser. Indexing engine supports all major single-byte and double-byte character sets. All indexed terms are handled in Unicode.
QuestAgent offers several highly customizable search interfaces that allow easy integration with existing publications. In addition, powerful QuestAgent API provides access to all search engine features from JavaScript. Supported Languages
