A simple YouTube video downloader and postprocessor. SmoothTube downloads videos from YouTube and converts them to MPEG format, which is supported by almost all media players and devices.
It also post processes videos, smoothing out some of the compression artefacts often introduced by YouTubes file size requirements.
SmoothTube uses the same libraries as Videolans VLC player. It works as a front-end to VLCs transcoding options, requiring no knowledge of their syntax or inner workings. You do not need VLC installed (though it is highly recommended as a multipurpose media player).
