Wimpy FTP 0.32 description

Wimpy FTP 0.32 offers users a small, easy to use FTP client. Double click on the Wimpy FTP.exe icon to start up Wimpy FTP.

Wimpy FTP is intended for uploading files only. Folders should not be "dragged and dropped" into the Wimpy FTP window. Wimpy FTP will not allow you to drag and drop a folder from your local PC into the Wimpy FTP window. Wimpy FTP will only upload files. You can upload multiple files, by dragging and dropping multiple files into the Wimpy FTP window. If you drag and drop a folder into the Wimpy FTP window, you will more-than-likely receive an error.

Major Features:

Click the "New Account" button and enter the following information:

  1. Account Title
    • A brief name to describe the account you are setting up
  2. Host
    • The FTP host URL to log into. Thi is usually something similar to "ftp.yoursite.com" -- or sometimes, just the domain name such as "yoursite.com" or "www.yoursite.com." If your not sure about this, check with your hosting provider or server admministrator to get the proper FTP Host.
  3. User Name
    • The username for your FTP account. This should have been provided to you by your server admin, or company that is hosting your site. If your not sure what your FTP account name is, check with your server admin.
  4. Password
    • The password associated with your User Name. This should have been provided to you by your server admin, or company that is hosting your site. If your not sure what your password is, check with your server admin.
  5. Start Up Folder
    • This would be the folder that you would like Wimpy FTP to load up when Wimpy FTP first starts up. Most folks like to set this to the folder that contains the "public" files. For example, "public_html" or "www." You can leave this blank and Wimpy FTP will start up in your account "root."
