Adventnet SNMP Utilities 5
Adventnet SNMP Utilities 5 Ranking & Summary
Adventnet SNMP Utilities 5 description
Adventnet SNMP Utilities 5 is a useful set of tool which is designed to be used for device, element, application, and system management. Using this version of AdventNet SNMP Utilities will surely bring you great elp and convenience.
AdventNet SNMP Utilities offers a comprehensive development toolkit for SNMP-based network management applications. These tools can be used for device, element, application, and system management.
The tools can communicate and interact with any SNMP-enabled device. Also it is very helpful for debugging and testing. The SNMP Utilities has a simple and intuitive graphic user interface that allows you to perform various functions in a mouse-click.
AdventNet SNMP Utilities provides off-the-shelf components for trap and table handling along with basic SNMP operations, such as SNMP GET, SNMP GETNEXT, SNMP GETBULK, and SNMP SET.
These tools can be used to manage SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 agents (i.e. the tools are multi-lingual) and talk to managed devices using any of the three versions of the SNMP protocols at the same time.AdventNet SNMP Utilities completely supports SNMPv3, as it is compliant with RFC 3411, 3412, 3413, 3414, and 3415. It also supports co-existence, notification filtering, and proxy forwarding; thus confirming to the RFC 2573 and 2576.
The following tools can communicate and interact with any SNMP-enabled device.
Major Features:
- Support for SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3.
- Support UDP / TCP Network protocol for communication.
- SNMPv3 security as defined in USM and VACM.
- MibBrowser supports CFB-AES-128 along with CBC-DES privprotocol.
- Support for Traps and INFORMS.
- Improved and enhanced MibBrowser UI tool.
- Alert the Operator/Administrator about the status of the device through e-mail.
- Database support for storing MIBs/SNMPv3 configuration data.
- SNMP table data viewer.
- Real-time graphing components.
- MIB definitions as in SMIv1 and SMIv2 formats.
- Supports parsing of MIB files.
- IPv6 support in MibBrowser at protocol level.
- Privprotocl CFB-AES-128 and CBC-DES is supported in ProxyForwarderConfigurator/ProxyForwarder.
- SNMP Applet Server (SAS) to communicate between applets and managed devices.
- MibBrowser - used to view and operate on data available through a SNMP agent on a managed device.
MibBrowser supports UDP/TCP communication with respective agents.
- SNMP operations like GET and GETNEXT can be performed by right clicking each node of the MIB tree. Definition of each node for a particular object can also be viewed.
- Enables to perform the basic SNMP operations, such as GET, GETNEXT, GETBULK, and SET.
- Display the output of any snmp operations in a tabular fashion with oid and value as columns.
- Supports multi-varbind requests.
- Enables real-time plotting of SNMP data in a graph. Line graph and bar graph are the two types of graphs that are currently supported.
- Provides a user-friendly view of SNMP table data. The table data can be viewed in a separate window called SNMP Table Panel.
- Enables to view the incoming traps using Trap Viewer. It also allows parsing of traps.
- Supports internationalization. This feature deploys the applications and applets developed using the AdventNet SNMP Utilities in various languages without altering the code.
- Enables loading of MIBs at startup.
- SNMP Decoder - used to view the decoded output of the debug information.
- The SNMP Decoder helps in debugging the information by interpreting the encoded output from any SNMP agent. The Debug pane is used to show the PDU that is sent from the manager and the response PDU that is got from the agent.
- The Snmp Decoder is used to decode the SNMP debug messages. If the debug message was stored in a file, the decoding can be done by loading the file. The debug message in the Debug window can be saved and can be loaded in the Decoder window.
- Trap Viewer - used to parse and view the received traps.
- Receiving Traps
- Receiving INFORMS
- Parsing Traps
- Editing Traps
- Displaying Traps received
- Trap Logging in Text and XML formatt.
- Alert the Operator/Administrator about the status of the device through e-mail.
- Proxy Forwarder Configuration tool - tool for configuring USM user tables and VACM entries for SNMPv3 agent.
- Agent Configuration - allows to configure various agent hosts to be queried.
- User Configuration - allows to configure various security levels for the users. Supports CFB-AES-128 and CBC-DES Privacy Protocol.
- VACM Configuration - allows to configure the VACM details. The wizard also has a table view in which the VACM details can be configured in the corresponding tables.
- WebServer and SAS Server - facilitates the use of SNMP management applets.
- Proxy Forwarder - used to translate SNMPv3 request for SNMPv1 and v2c agents.
- SNMP Proxy Forwarder is a multilingual SNMP tool which translates SNMPV3 requests for SNMPv1/v2c agents. Basically, it converts all incoming SNMPv3 requests from the manager to a SNMPv1/v2c request based on the agent type. It then forwards this request to the appropriate agent and gets the response. The response is reconstructed as SNMPv3 response and sent back to the manager.
- The SNMP Proxy Forwarder tool supports multiple SNMPv3 mangers to communicate with multiple SNMPv1/v2c agents. In such situations, requests from a manager is routed to the appropriate agent and the received response is again given to the same manager.
- i18NEditor - used for internationalization. The i18N Editor enables localization of MIB Browser components.
Requirements:
- Pentium 500 MHz
- 128 MB RAM and above
