PortComm 1.00 description
PortComm software represents a communication application that can be used to send and receive data asynchronously through the serial port (in the future through the USB port as well).
Its also possible to manually change the state of the RTS and DTR signals and to monitor the CTS and DSR signals.
You can choose among a few display modes: decimal, hex or text.
If you use the Auto mode to enter data to send, you have the possibility to specify different types of data:
If the Auto mode is used:
The text must be enclosed within quotes. The character set of the current language is used.
You can use some escape codes in text: \r - CR (0xD); \n - LF (0xA); \t - Tab (0x9).
The S and L modifiers behind decimal or hex values force the Short/Long values.
The data types may be mixed (e.g. "Line 1" 13 10 "Line\t2" 0xD 0xA 1000L).
