It completely decodes all the major protocols such as ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, as well as top-level protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, FTP, TELNET and others.

The flexible system of filters can discard all network traffic except those traffic patterns you are interested in analyzing. Softperfect Network Sniffer also contains a special packet builder, through which you can build your own network packets and send them onto the network. This can be used, for example, to check your network for robustness against attacks and intruders.

Softperfect Network Sniffer requires Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP and a network connection, which could include any wireless connection or modem that is supported by the NDIS standard.
