Cryptic Disk Ultimate 3.0.28.563 gives you an easy to use and high quality program designed for protecting files from unauthorized access. The program creates virtual encrypted disks as well as encrypting hard disks, USB drives and memory cards. This allows you to maintain secrets both on a home computer and on a workstation. Data encryption makes use of the best algorithms (any of the following modern cryptographic algorithms can be used: AES/Rijndael, Serpent, Twofish, Blowfish, CAST6), and takes place in real time without affecting computer performance. Cryptic Disk provides its users with maximum functionality for protecting their information.

Encrypted virtual and physical disks are mounted as separate disks attached to a drive letter of your choice, or an ordinary folder on NTFS disks. They do not have any special markers which give away that they are, in fact, an encrypted disk. Addition protection can be provided using steganography, by creating hidden encrypted disks inside of other ones.

Cryptic Disk allows users to increase the encryption key size from 256 to 2944 bits by using cascade encryption (the use of multiple algorithms to encrypt data in sequence). This significantly increases the protection for encrypted data against being cracked.

The program supports XTS mode, developed specially for encrypting disk data. The program boasts strong protection from brute force password attacks in accordance with PKCS #5 v2, as well as a virtual keyboard which protects user-entered passwords from keyloggers. The only way to access encrypted data is by using key files or entering the password which only you know.

Enhancements:

• The encrypted container creation wizard now uses the default path as the value of the file path input field.
• The default container size in the encrypted container creation wizard has been increased to 20 MB.
• If the program cannot complete the formatting of an encrypted volume or container, it displays a notification with a description of the problem. For instance, when an encrypted container is created, the program will not be able to format it if it was started with lower privileges.
• Improved UAC (User Account Control) support. When an action requiring higher privileges is executed, the program automatically restarts with higher privileges and opens a window corresponding to the selected action.
• Added the OFN_DONTADDTORECENT flag to all file selection dialogs that prevents the system from remembering the paths specified by the user.
