Web and Computer Washer features numerous washing methods such as:
- History (visited sites). Your web browser keeps a history of all the web pages your have visited. This option will remove all history of your visited web pages.
- Address Bar History. Your web browser keeps a history of all the web addresses you have typed in your address bar. This option will remove all history of your typed web addresses.
- Cookies. A great deal of web sites will set a cookie on your computer. This is perfectly legal and your web browser was designed to accept cookies, unless you manually disabled your cookies. A cookie is a small piece of information that your web browser saves in a specific place on your computer. Some people have issues with cookies because some advertising web sites will set a cookie on your machine which is used to keep track of what web sites you like to visit. Also, other people who use your computer can track many of the web sites you have visited.
- Temporary Internet Files. Your web browser stores/caches all of the images and information contained in all of the web pages you visit. Although your web browser will only use a certain amount of your hard drive. This can be a good thing if you re-visit web pages more than once since this will speed up the download time of the web page. Your web browser stores Temporary Internet Files to increase your web browsing experience. Although other people who use your computer can track the web sites you have visited. If you do want other people who use your computer to know what web pages you have visited or if your computer is low on hard disk space then select this option.
- AutoComplete Forms. Your web browser keeps a record of all the passwords and your usernames of the web sites your have logged into. An example of such a web site could be a web forum that requires you to log in. Most web browsers will by default save your username and passwords so that you do not have to retype them each time you log in to the web site. This option will only wash the usernames/forms. See the below option, About AutoComplete Passwords, to remove the passwords.
- AutoComplete Passwords. Your web browser keeps a record of all the passwords and your usernames of the web sites your have logged into. An example of such a web site could be a web forum that requires you to log in. Most web browsers will by default save your username and passwords so that you do not have to retype them each time you log in to the web site. This option will only wash the passwords. - Favorites / Bookmarks. CAUTION! This option will remove all of your web browser Favorites! Favorites are bookmarks, a record of all of your favorite web sites.
- Document History. Your computer keeps a history of all the documents that you have opened on your computer. Examples of computer documents would be word processor or tax files.
- Run History. The Run History is a record of all the programs you ran in the Run Command. The Run Command is accessed by clicking on your Windows Start button followed by clicking on Run.
- Search Files History. Your computer keeps a history of all the files you have searched for.
- Search Computers History. Your computer keeps a history of all the computers you have searched for. A computer search is when you are on a network and you want to find a nearby computer.
- Temp Folder. Your computer has a folder that keeps temporary files. This can consume a great deal of your hard disk space.
- Recycle Bin. The Recycle Bin contains all of the files you have deleted. When you delete a file it goes into the Recycle Bin and is not permanently deleted. Select this option if you want to permanently delete the files from your Recycle Bin.
- Network History. Your computer keeps a record of all computers you have accessed.
- Telnet History. Your computer keeps a record of all your telnet sessions.
