Eye4Software GPS Toolkit 2.1

Eye4Software GPS Toolkit 2.1 offers user a toolkit which allows software developers to add GPS functionality to their own programs without the need to have any knowledge on serial communications and GPS protocols..

All NMEA0183 protocol versions are supported, all NMEA 0183 can be filtered by NMEA type and talker ID. Values can be outputed using different output formats and units.

Information on GPS status can also be retrieved: GPS fix quality, Satellites used in fix, DGPS beacon ID, Satellites in view, Satellite azimuth, elevation and singnal strengths. Comes with various programming examples: Visual C++, Visual Basic, Visual C#.net, Visual Basic .net and VBScript.

It is possible to filter incoming NMEA sentences by message type and talker-id. This can come in handy when multiple NMEA devices are connected to the same port, using for instance a NMEA data combiner, and you want to decode data only from either a GPS (GP TalkerID ) or Compass (HC TalkerID ). Using the filter, if needed you can also force the toolkit to extract the position from the GLL string rather then the GGA string.

Major Features:

1. The toolkit will handle all the communications over the serial port and converts NMEA0183 sentences into usable data like:
   
   • Latitude;
   • Longitude;
   • Course over ground;
   • Speed over ground;
   • Date and time;
   • Altitude;
2. Information about the fix, like the number of satellites used to calculate the position, dilution of precision (DOP) and information about the satellites in view, like elevation, azimuth and signal strength.
   
3. The built in CRC check function prevents the toolkit from decoding corrupted data.
   Type of NMEA0183 messages the toolkit supports include:
   
   • GGA - Global Positioning fix data, time, position and fix related data
   • GLL - Geographic position – Latitude / Longitude
   • GSA - GPS DOP and active satellites
   • GSV - Satellites in view
   • RMC - Recommended minimum navigation information
   • VTG - Track Made Good and Ground Speed
4. All NMEA data can be logged to a file.
