IXFile is a useful software component that facilitates file input/output and with the help of which software developers can easily and quickly perform common file operations like finding, reading and writing data of various types, resizing, locking, positioning and others.
Most of file activities can be accomplished with just a single call of a method because all necessary support is handled internally by IXFile.
IXFile is designed as data-oriented component; each file access method is available in several versions for commonly used data types. Such approach greatly simplifies programming and eliminates errors because data is handled internally according to its type - developer just makes use of appropriate method and does not have to know how data is stored in memory. Even access to complex structured data can be acomplished with a single call. Operating system, by contrast, supports generic file data access; you must know exact size and internal representation of data for correct processing.
IXFile is available as a COM component and C++ library to be used with Visual Studio 6.0 (or higher) programming tools, Active Server Pages and scripting languages. Unicode support allows easy integration with applications designed for international markets. Threading support enables development of multithreaded applications. IXFile can operate on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP platforms.
