Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 7 Update 2 Build 11 Developer Preview is described as a highly flexible and feature-rich tool which alows you to create apps in Java. The Java Development Kit is a development environment for building applications, components and applets using the Java programming language. The JDK includes tools useful for developing and testing programs written in the Java programming language and running on the Java platform.

• Runtime Environment
