Solid File System (.NET edition) 3.1.0.79 description
Solid File System (.NET edition) - An implementation of file system, stored in single file SolFS is an implementation of file system, stored in single file.
SolFS has all necessary functionality, that can be found in modern file systems, such as support for streams inside of files, file and stream encryption, journalling (support for data integrity), keeping of last data access time etc.
Using SolFS you will be able to simplify or completely solve the problem of managing large number of supplementary files, needed to your application.
Now your customers wont be confused by unknown files, populating their disk drive. Also the problem of accidential file deletion is solved: all files are kept in one place out of users touch. When you use one file (file system storage) application maintenance and user support becomes much easier.
When your application works with several data sets, linked with each other, it is important to keep all data in one file. In this case use of SolFS lets you guarantee integrity and completeness of data.
Main features:
- Easy-to-use architecture - SolFS file and directory management functions are similar to those of Operating Systems. One can replace direct file operations with SolFS storage operations in minutes.
- Strong security - SolFS storage security is based on industry-adopted security standards.
- Data integrity - using journalling mechanisms you can ensure that your data is not corrupted even if the system fails.
- Feature-richness - there are virtually no limits on what you can do with SolFS storage. Support for multiple streams and custom attributes for files lets you organize and manage the data the way you want.
- Easy access to data - SolFS storage can be accessed on many popular platforms, including Windows, Unix/Linux, .NET and PDAs.
Version restrictions:
- The unlicensed (trial) version doesnt support encryption and performs certain file operations with delay. This makes SolFS to seem slow. However SolFS is usually faster than "real" file systems (due to smaller number of kernel-mode calls).
