What is SwiftAlloc?
SwiftAlloc is a useful windows dll which intercepts calls to the standard Microsoft C++ memory manager (MS VC++ 6.0, 7.0, .Net 2003, and Borland Builder C++ 5.0 and 6.0 also supported). Your application must be dynamically linked with CRT libraries.

SwiftAlloc and dual-core CPUs
SwiftAlloc works on dual-core based CPUs. If you are using Windows XP SP 2 or Windows XP Server .Net with NUMA support, SwiftAlloc will respect the NUMA node of the calling thread and will allocate the memory from the proper NUMA CPU node.

Will SwiftAlloc speed up my application?
SwiftAlloc will greatly improve the performance of your aplplication if it is multithreaded and it is running on multiprocessors or multi-cores and it frequently uses the memory heap (calls to malloc/free or new/delete or STL functions).

What do I need to do to start using SwiftAlloc?
At the beginning of your application, either in WinMain() or in CYourApp::InitInstance() you need to load SwiftAlloc.dll. Example: ::LoadLibrary("SwiftAlloc.dll");

That is all what you need to start benefiting from the extremely fast memory allocator.

You must not unload SwiftAlloc.dll by your self. When your application terminates Windows will automatically unload it.

What else SwiftAlloc can do?
We wanted to make our allocator the fastest memory allocator in the world. The main version of SwiftAlloc dll is carefully optimized to minimize the amout of time it spends inside of of allocation dll and giving more CPU cycles to your application.

That is why we offer several versions of our allocator, packed in different DLLs for different purposes.

SwiftAlloc.dll - is the main version of allocator and performs extremely fast.
SwiftAllocS.dll - is the version of allocator that gathers runtime statistics about the object sizes your application allocates during run time.
SwiftAllocD.dll - is the debug version of allocator that performs memory overrun checks each time you free the memory pointer.
