3.5"Master Ranking & Summary
3.5"Master was specially designed to be a small tool that allows you to read all data on a floppy disk into a file on your hard drive and write it back later.
Those images can be compressed and protected by a password, even the creation of self extracting image files is possible, so you do not need an installation of 3.5"master to write them back to floppy disk.
3.5"master supports 720 KB and 1440 KB floppy disks (on win9x 720 KB disks must be formatted using the FAT file system to correctly be recognized).
- It is quite difficult to create bootable floppy disks under windows nt/2000/xp. but if you have the image of such a bootable disk on your hard disk (probably created under win9x or pure dos), you can simply write that image back to floppy disk also under nt to create a boot disk.
- It-supporters often need to have a rather large amount of floppy disks (configuration, booting...), but usually the currently wanted disk cannot be found... so, if you have a sorted collection of floppy disk images (probably self extracting) on your hard disk, it's much easier to find this one and write it back to a floppy.
- The generic (uncompressed) image type is compatible to the output of the un*x command dd, so you can use that kind of image under windows and un*x.
- Created a bartpe plugin
- The program does not display errors/hang when the config file flpmstr.conf cannot be created/written.
