D7 5.8.9 description
D7 5.8.9 brings you a flexible, smart and effective tool for PC technicians to aid in many tasks and provide a uniform procedure for technicians to follow. It has many capabilities and many uses including offline and live malware removal assistance, offline registry editing, data backup and restore, CPU/RAM stress testing, information gathering and quality assurance uses, etc. etc. Too much to list here, right now at least. It also combines some other projects of mine such as DataGrab and CheckDisk, among other smaller things.
It stores most preferences in an INI file for portability; however some registry entries under HKLMSoftwareFoolish IT are created for certain shell extension and offline registry hive loading functionality to work properly. These settings may not be removed when D7 closes, but are perfectly harmless to remain. Also, goog.exe (the command line google app) and takeown.exe (command line take ownership app from Microsoft) may be dropped in the Windows directory for the shell extensions to work some of their magic.
D7 may be run from a flash drive, or other portable means by simply copying the application directory to your portable medium. D7 will not function properly when running from a CD, as the app must be able to write to it's own app directory.

Enhancements:
- Broke up Delete Temp Files (All) function on the Maintenance tab into 4 separate functions (Temp Files, Temp Internet Files, Cookies, and History.)
- Expanded Find Duplicate Files feature to search based on file name or MD5 hash.
- When clicking on Find Duplicate Files or Work With File from D7 menu, you are now prompted to actually browse for a file if one is not already found in the Windows clipboard.
- Added new Automatic Updates functionality. Now you can view ALL Windows settings for Automatic Updates (including Policy settings) in one window, make alterations, and even save your config as default which can be automatically written during D7 Auto on the Maintenance tab! Click the option in Post Maintenance or the Automatic Updates alert label on the Info tab.
